New Horizons for Saudi-British Cooperation

The high-level joint steering committee (JSSC) held a meeting in London, chaired by Saudi Assistant Minister of Defense Talal bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi and British Ministry of Defence Director General for Industry, Trade and Economic Security Avril Golightly. The meeting reviewed the historical and strategic defense relations between the two friendly nations, in addition to discussing strategic cooperation in defense research and development, technology transfer, and localization in line with Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, Al-Otaibi met with the British Minister of Defence Procurement and Member of Parliament James Cartlidge at the British Ministry of Defence, where they explored opportunities to enhance and develop bilateral cooperation in defense and military fields. The Assistant Minister of Defense also discussed cooperation in defense research and development, technology transfer, and localization per Saudi Vision 2030 with the British Deputy Chief of Defence Staff, General Rob Magowan, along with various topics of mutual interest.
