Civil Defense in Gaza Calls for Safe Entry of Aid

The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip stated today, Sunday, that "aerial dropping of aid over the sector has not alleviated the famine among the population; instead, it has increased the number of casualties seeking sustenance." The spokesperson for the Civil Defense in Gaza pointed out that "continuing to use this method for providing relief to citizens has resulted in several casualties and injuries among the population." The spokesperson emphasized "the necessity of finding fundamental solutions given the proven ineffectiveness of this method in aiding citizens suffering from famine in the Gaza Strip," and stressed "the need to ensure that this aid is brought in through the sector's entry points and delivered safely to all besieged citizens to prevent further casualties." Earlier reports indicated casualties, both dead and wounded, resulting from air-dropped aid over the Gaza Strip in two separate incidents this week.
