The Iraqi Ministry of Health confirmed today, Thursday, the closure of 124 beauty centers and clinics that violated regulations, indicating that it will continue to monitor all health institutions' operations. The ministry's spokesperson, Saif Al-Badr, stated that “inspection teams from the Ministry of Health and its corresponding departments in Baghdad and the provinces, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, are continuing to monitor the work of private health institutions, including beauty centers, and taking action against violations by closing them in accordance with applicable regulations and laws.”
Al-Badr added that “the Private Health Institutions Inspection Department, from October 2022 to December 2023, during independent campaigns or in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior, inspected 305 beauty centers, of which 124 were closed. Among them, 94 were found to be fraudulent centers that were referred to the competent courts, and 30 centers and operating rooms within licensed beauty centers were found to violate ministerial regulations. Additionally, 25 doctors and dentists working in beauty centers and clinics were referred for violating the ministry's instructions and relevant syndicate regulations, as well as issuing 7 orders to dispose of materials unfit for use in beauty centers.”
