Claudette Dion, the sister of Canadian singer Celine, commented on the rumors regarding the disappearance of Celine's voice due to her declining health from the illness "Stiff-Person Syndrome." Claudette confirmed that the rumors are completely untrue, stating, "Those who claim that my sister's voice has disappeared are mistaken," and added, "She sang to me on the phone, and her voice is still there. I was very happy and reassured to hear that."
She continued, "She has confidence, just like I do, in her ability to overcome this ordeal." Claudette explained that she is in contact with leading experts in the field of Stiff-Person Syndrome and is intensifying her readings and meetings with researchers to expedite finding a treatment for her illness, which affects one in a million people.
Her denial came after the British newspaper "Mirror" reported that she mentioned it would be impossible for Dion to perform on stage due to her deteriorating health. The British paper also claimed that Celine Dion has developed a hunched back, is prone to falling at any moment, and suffers from rapid spasms and almost constant difficulty walking.
