Israeli warplanes launched an airstrike on Wednesday evening on a three-story building in a residential area in the center of Naqoura. According to circulating information, the target was Hezbollah leader Hussein Yzbek along with three of his companions. Reuters reported that two security sources confirmed "the death of a local Hezbollah official and three other members in an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon."
Ambulance teams were dispatched to the targeted building, with reports of four martyrs in Naqoura and ongoing search operations. The airstrike on the house in a residential neighborhood in central Naqoura caused significant damage to surrounding homes, prompting emergency teams to respond to the scene.
Additionally, an Israeli drone struck the Al-Jami' neighborhood in Yaron, firing a guided missile at the targeted area. As a result, the number of fatalities from Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon on Wednesday rose to nine Hezbollah members, marking one of the deadliest days for the group since the outbreak of cross-border fire with Israel in October.
Sheikh Hussam Al-Eilani, the Imam and preacher of Al-Ghafran Mosque in Sidon, denied the circulating news regarding the assassination of the Hezbollah regional official, Sheikh Zaid Daher, and Sheikh Youssef Tohbish. Al-Eilani confirmed he contacted both Daher and Tohbish, stating that "the assassination news is untrue and baseless."
