Hochstein Arrives in Israel

Senior Israeli and American officials have announced that Amos Hochstein, a senior advisor to U.S. President Joe Biden, has arrived in Israel to discuss efforts to prevent a war with Lebanon. The Israeli website "Walla" reported that "there is growing concern within the U.S. administration that escalation on the northern border could lead to the war in Gaza developing into a regional war, which would require greater American military intervention."

The report mentioned that Hochstein is expected to meet with Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, and National Security Advisor Tzachi Hanegbi to discuss the situation on the northern border, according to senior Israeli and American officials. During the Manama Dialogue 2023, a regional security summit, Hochstein emphasized that "what is happening in Gaza should not impact the borders with Lebanon," and reaffirmed that "the maritime border agreement between Lebanon and Israel is in place," insisting that "the future plan should focus on delineating the land borders."
