Ben Gvir Demands Netanyahu Dismiss Gallant

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to dismiss Defense Minister Yoav Gallant after the police began preparations to dismantle a settlement outpost in the West Bank. Ben Gvir considered Gallant's decision to evacuate and demolish buildings at the Gal Yosef farm, where 14-year-old Benjamin Ashimer was killed, even during the week of mourning, to represent "terrible bluntness, moral confusion, security folly, and a violation of the dignity of the deceased." He added, "Instead of creating more farms and approving and expanding Jewish settlement, we are yielding to the enemy," asserting that "the time has come for the Prime Minister to consider replacing Minister Gallant."
