The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that "Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call today, Sunday, from his American counterpart Antony Blinken, during which they discussed the obstacles threatening the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, and ways to reach a comprehensive cessation of hostilities." The statement added that "Shoukry emphasized during the phone call the necessity of building on this ceasefire to achieve a comprehensive ceasefire... and also supporting international efforts aimed at achieving this goal, including the implementation of the Security Council resolution issued on November 15 regarding the establishment of ceasefires and humanitarian corridors in the Gaza Strip to contain the unprecedented deteriorating humanitarian conditions facing the region."

Additionally, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed his gratitude to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his cooperation with Cairo in mediating a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the successful exchange of prisoners between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" and Israel. Sisi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to Sheikh Tamim for his efforts and his team's work, which complemented Egyptian efforts to achieve a humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza and successfully execute the prisoner exchange. He stated, "I look forward to further joint cooperation to meet the aspirations of the Palestinian people and to establish comprehensive and just peace in the region."
