Iraqi Trade Minister Atheer Dawood Al-Ghareeri announced today, Thursday, the outcomes of the 12th session of the Iraqi-Syrian committee. He indicated the formation of technical committees between Iraq and Syria specializing in three areas, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to increase the volume of trade exchange.
Al-Ghareeri stated to the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "the Iraqi-Syrian committee held its 12th session over the past two days in Baghdad to confirm the creation of balanced relations based on sustainable development and common interests."
He explained that "the committee produced memorandums related to reconstruction, housing, and social welfare, in addition to memorandums of understanding concerning standardization, quality control, and certificates of conformity."
He pointed out the formation of technical committees in the fields of health, higher education, and foreign trade, noting that "plans and agreements are being established to achieve the ambitions regarding trade exchange between Iraq and Syria, as it was in the past and at a level worthy of both countries."
Furthermore, he mentioned that "the Iraqi market prefers Syrian goods and industries, which previously held significant weight in the Iraqi market," adding that "work is ongoing to overcome the obstacles and challenges to increase the trade exchange between the two countries."
