Following the Israeli air attack on the town of Khiam, the Israeli army artillery shelled the same location that was targeted in the airstrike. The shelling also affected the Maslakh neighborhood and the Wadi al-Asafir area in the town, as well as the outskirts of the towns of Deirmimas and Kfarkala, and the Hill of Hammas. In response, the "Islamic Resistance" announced in a statement that its members discovered "an ambush for a hostile group east of the Hanita site and targeted it at 18:50 on Monday, 08-04-2024, with artillery fire, inflicting casualties among its members."
