Deputy Farid Heikal Khazen affirmed that "the constitutional vacuum resulting from the failure to elect a president has proven to have very negative effects on various state administrations." After meeting with the Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the caretaker government, Bassam Mawlawi, he stated, "Al-Nafaa is not functioning in the country, and handing it over to military administration is a mistake; this department is civilian and cannot be given to the military." He pointed out that "there is a need to reconsider how Al-Nafaa and the mechanics are managed and to appoint administrators with experience." He added: "We will not accept that Al-Nafaa in Kesrouan remains closed, and Mawlawi expressed full cooperation and concern for the people of Kesrouan, promising that Al-Nafaa will reopen its doors in the foreseeable future."
