IMF: Georgieva is the Sole Candidate for Director General Position

The International Monetary Fund announced on Thursday that "current Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva is the only candidate for the position that will become vacant in October." The Fund stated in a release: "The nomination period for the next Managing Director ended yesterday, Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Only one name was nominated, the current Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva." Georgieva's current five-year term ends on September 30.
