Health authorities in the region stated that a 34-year-old individual who recently visited Equatorial Guinea has been transferred from a private hospital to an isolation unit at a hospital in Valencia, and is undergoing medical tests. The World Health Organization noted that the fatality rate due to the Marburg virus can reach up to 88%. There is currently no approved vaccine or antiviral treatment available.
