French coach Christophe Galtier, head of Paris Saint-Germain, denied the possibility of any conflicts between the team's stars, Argentine Lionel Messi and French Kylian Mbappe. Recent reports have revealed apparent disagreements between the PSG forwards following their encounter in the final of the "Qatar 2022" World Cup.
During the press conference for the match between Strasbourg and Paris Saint-Germain in the French league, Galtier was asked about the circulating news regarding disputes between Messi and Mbappe. Galtier responded: "I don't believe there is anything. Regarding the celebration of the Argentinians winning the World Cup, I can't comment on what the goalkeeper did."
The Paris Saint-Germain coach added: "Leo did not behave badly, and in the four months I have been here, I think his relationship with Kylian is good." He continued: "The actions of the Argentine goalkeeper are another matter, I will not comment on that. But Kylian's behavior was good; he was disappointed by the defeat but went to congratulate Leo with a lot of grace. I think this is good for the team."
Galtier concluded by saying: "What I saw is that Kylian and Leo shook hands on the pitch. They are players who respect each other a lot. I want to highlight Kylian's attitude of going to congratulate Leo and the Argentine coach."
Lionel Messi, 35 years old, led the Argentine national team to victory in the "Qatar 2022" World Cup, defeating the French team on penalties (2-4) in the final held on December 18, 2022, at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar. This marked Argentina's first title since 1986 and the third in its history (1978, 1986, 2022).
