On Thursday, lawyer Suzy Abu Hamdan was assaulted by her client's husband and others, in front of the Shyah Shia Court. Abu Hamdan immediately filed a complaint after the Bar Association intervened, and the Tyouna police station opened an investigation into the incident. The head of the Beirut Bar Association, Fadi El-Masri, is following the case of the assault on the lawyer within the jurisdiction of Mount Lebanon. The appellate public prosecutor in the mountain, Judge Rami Abdullah, has issued a summons for two individuals involved in the incident. Initial information suggests that the assault was related to a divorce case in which the lawyer represents the wife. A statement from the Beirut Bar Association condemning the assault on the lawyer while performing her duties is expected to be issued.
