The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the Caretaker Government, Abdullah Bou Habib, affirmed "the importance of stability in the south, especially after the recent developments that the Middle East has experienced." Bou Habib's position came during his meetings with the ambassadors of France, Hervé Magro, and the United States, Lisa Johnson, where they discussed the latest developments regarding the displacement crisis and its repercussions, as well as European and international positions on the matter. Bou Habib also received a phone call from Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg, and both parties agreed on "the importance of halting escalation and military actions, especially in light of recent developments." Schallenberg welcomed "the visit of his Lebanese counterpart to Austria in early May to continue discussions and exchange ideas and perspectives on what is happening in the region and the situation in southern Lebanon."
