The England national football team announced today, Tuesday, that Kobbie Mainoo, Manchester United's midfielder, has been called up for the first time to the national squad ahead of the upcoming friendly matches, following the player's strong performances with his club. Mainoo, 18 years old, has been included in the squad selected by coach Gareth Southgate for the matches against Brazil at Wembley Stadium on March 23 and against Belgium on March 26. Mainoo has risen from the youth ranks at United and has participated in 14 matches with the first team in the Premier League this season.
