British Embassy in Libya Confirms Continued Travel Ban Due to Security Situation

The British Embassy in Libya has confirmed that there are no new updates regarding Libya in the UK travel advice. The embassy indicated in its statement that "there are some false news reports about the UK travel advice for Libya," adding that "there are no new updates specifically for Libya in the travel advice." The British Embassy noted that "like many other countries, it continues to advise its citizens against traveling to Libya, a stance that has been in place since 2014." Earlier today, the British Foreign Office warned about what it termed the "fragile" security situation in Libya, including a new warning that designated Libya as a destination not to be visited due to the "dangerously fragile local security situation that can deteriorate quickly into violent fighting and clashes without warning," according to the statement.
