French player Kylian Mbappé, of Paris Saint-Germain, is relying on the law in his battle against his club's management, which has decided to freeze him and send him to train with the reserve team and players returning from loans. The relationship between Mbappé and the Paris club has soured due to the player's refusal to renew his contract and his insistence on staying until the end of the current contract in June, allowing him to leave for free to Real Madrid in June 2024.
The Spanish newspaper "AS" reported that Mbappé could sue the Paris club if his punishment by management continues, barring him from participating and training with the team until next month. The report mentioned that the players' union may become involved, potentially leading to financial and sporting sanctions against the Paris club, given that Kylian is protected under sports and civil law and has the right, like any athlete, to fulfill the entirety of his contract.
"AS" emphasized that Paris's decision to freeze Mbappé is merely a temporary threat, meaning the exclusion is not final. Nevertheless, the management has conveyed to the player through close associates that a renewal is the only way for Kylian to wear the capital's team colors again. The newspaper, which is close to Real Madrid, which is awaiting the resolution of the conflict between Mbappé and Paris to secure the player's signing, reported that Mbappé's environment is studying the legal actions that will be taken if the exclusion punishment continues into next month.
