It added, "We received a report that a ship was attacked by two missiles, leading to a fire onboard." The Iranian-aligned Houthi group in Yemen has been targeting ships in the Red Sea and the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, claiming that these actions are "moves to express solidarity with the Palestinians in the ongoing conflict in Gaza." The United States has formed an international coalition to protect maritime navigation in the Red Sea in response to the attacks.
