Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani confirmed today, Wednesday, that Iraq is steadfastly progressing towards development and construction, emphasizing that there will be no compromise on Iraq's sovereignty and the supreme interests of its people. The media office of the Prime Minister stated that "Sudani sponsored the opening of the International Sufism Conference, organized by the Sunni Endowment in the capital, Baghdad, with the presence of Islamic figures from various countries." He pointed out that "major countries have abandoned their responsibilities and now support entities that are outside the law, committing various acts of murder and crimes," clarifying that "what is happening compels us to hold onto our unity and to set aside our differences in order to be united in the face of the challenges that lie ahead." He affirmed that "Iraq emerged victorious over ISIS through the unity of its people, and today it is advancing towards development and reconstruction," noting that "we face all conditions and complexities with firmness and wisdom, defending our security, the sovereignty of our country, and the supreme interests of our people, in which we will not compromise or flatter, regardless of the difficulties and challenges."
