Upcoming Major Increase in Health Coverage in Lebanon

The caretaker Minister of Public Health, Firas Abyad, will hold a press conference to announce significant increases in health coverage for patients under the Ministry of Public Health’s new tariffs. The conference will take place at 10:30 AM on Friday at the Ministry building in Bir Hassan. These increases are set to take effect at the beginning of April 2024, according to the 2024 budget. Abyad will explain the mechanism that will be followed and the measures the ministry will take to protect patients and their families from any violations. In preparation for these new tariffs, Abyad will meet with directors of public and private hospitals in various Lebanese provinces in a series of meetings to provide them with all the details and address their inquiries.
