As military operations intensify in the besieged Gaza Strip, which has faced months of conflict, and with Tel Aviv confirming its intention to invade the densely populated city of Rafah amid international warnings about the grave situation, Hamas has responded. Member of the political bureau of Hamas, Muhammad Nazzal, stated that the ongoing negotiations for a ceasefire are difficult. He emphasized that Hamas and its leadership understand the grievances of the angry and exhausted voices in the Strip, referring to the cries of the residents and their pleas for help amid heavy Israeli bombardment, hunger, and lack of aid.
In an interview with "Al Arabiya/Al Hadath" on Sunday, he noted that the voices criticizing Hamas in Gaza might be fabricated, clarifying that the movement has not deprived the people there of food but rather Israel, and that protests should be directed against it. He further stated that Israel is placing the responsibility for the war on the Palestinian people, considering that the peace process has achieved nothing. Nazzal announced that the Palestinian presidency has distanced itself from the Gaza war, stating that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's negotiating path has offered the maximum possible concessions, according to his remarks.
