Lebanese artist Najwa Karam stirred a wave of controversy and questions among her fans and followers after her provocative statements about seeing Jesus repeatedly in her home. During her visit to the Lady Church on the occasion of Holy Week, Najwa said: "I watched television, prayed, and then fell asleep. After that, I opened my eyes and saw Jesus in front of me in the same image, and this happened more than 12 or 13 times."
She added, "While I was thinking that there was no other image of Jesus on television, I said to myself that there was no image other than this Jesus that would stay for so long. I looked around and found that there was no television at all, and I discovered that the Lord Jesus Christ was staying over at my house."
Activists interacted with the Lebanese star's statements, with some supporting her views and others opposing them. Some considered the backlash against her to be expected, due to the lack of faith in some people that leads them to approach the matter with mockery and sarcasm, while others thought it was merely hallucinations from her imagination or a metaphorical interpretation of a dream.
