The United States announced that it will pressure Israel for more details regarding the recently discovered "mass graves" in Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip. The magazine "Newsweek" quoted U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller, who commented that the U.S. has reviewed reports indicating that Palestinian civil defense teams found a mass grave containing 180 individuals, including women and children. Miller stated at a press conference, "We have reviewed these reports, and we are inquiring about them with the Israeli government." When asked whether the U.S. would "pressure the Israelis for more information on this matter," Miller responded, "That's exactly what we are doing."
On Monday, the civil defense in Gaza announced that its teams uncovered bodies of individuals buried by Israeli forces at the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. Yamen Abu Suleiman, the director of civil defense in Khan Younis, told CNN that 35 bodies were discovered on Tuesday, bringing the total to 310. Suleiman added that some bodies were found with their hands and feet bound, showing signs of "field executions," and noted, "We do not know whether they were buried alive or executed." The Israeli army responded that it was examining the bodies buried by Palestinians in the Nasser Hospital area "as part of efforts to locate hostages and missing persons."
