Death of Al-Mayadeen Channel Correspondent in Gaza

The government media office in Gaza announced the death of journalist Abdel Karim Odeh from Al-Mayadeen Channel in the Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip, raising the number of killed journalists to 87 since the onset of the war. Earlier, the Secretary-General of Reporters Without Borders, Christophe Deloire, stated that he had never seen such a high number of journalists killed in such a short period, as is occurring in the war between Israel and Hamas. On October 31, Reporters Without Borders filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court accusing Israel of "war crimes" against journalists in Gaza. The organization clarified that the complaint pertains to "eight Palestinian journalists killed in Israeli bombardments on civilian areas in Gaza and an Israeli journalist who was killed on October 7 while covering the Hamas attack on the kibbutz where he lived." The complaint also refers to "the deliberate total or partial destruction of the offices of more than 50 media outlets in Gaza."
