The Union of Tourist Guides stated in a statement that "some television and radio stations, as well as online sites, are conducting interviews with individuals who claim to be tourist guides. However, after investigation and scrutiny, it has been revealed that they are impersonating licensed tourist guides and do not possess the license allowing them to practice this profession. It is important to note that a licensed tourist guide must hold a tourist guide card issued by the Ministry of Tourism, and only then can they join the Union of Tourist Guides. Therefore, we urge the media to verify the status of their guests when conducting interviews specifically related to the profession of tourist guide to avoid legal liability if the union resorts to legal and judicial authorities." It also confirmed its readiness "to cooperate with all media outlets and provide suitable and specialized individuals in the tourism field to deliver a meaningful message that serves the interests of tourism and development in Lebanon, as well as all its facilities, cities, and tourist sites."
