Civil Defense warns against swimming in areas with strong currents

The General Directorate of Civil Defense has warned "citizens, residents, and tourists against swimming in areas with strong currents, as it may expose them to the risk of drowning, especially with the wave heights and associated dangers at the Lebanese beach this Sunday due to the intense marine currents affected by tidal movements caused by strong winds." The Directorate urged "fishermen, boat owners, and anyone involved in water sports to exercise the utmost caution when visiting the beach and to avoid any activities in these extremely hazardous weather conditions." It reminded "citizens and residents of the necessity to adhere to the public safety guidelines issued by the General Directorate of Civil Defense and to contact the number 125 for assistance when needed."
