Iraqi Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Sudani emphasized today, Thursday, the importance of enhancing efforts to promote Iraqi culture and its Arab-Islamic depth. In a statement, he mentioned that "Sudani received today, Thursday, Iraq's permanent representative to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Assad Turki Suwari, and listened to a comprehensive presentation of the activities undertaken by the international organization in its field of expertise with Iraq, along with the cultural, educational, and training programs implemented in partnership with it."
Sudani affirmed that "Iraq's participation in cultural forums and international organizations reflects the growing image of Iraq that aligns with its history and civilizational heritage." He pointed out the "importance of enhancing efforts to promote Iraqi culture and its Arab-Islamic depth, and collaboration on the projects of reviving the ancient cities of Mosul and Basra, which include the protection of Iraqi heritage in these cities and the rehabilitation of their heritage sites, as well as showcasing the rich creative output of Iraqi creators, and expanding partnerships between Iraq and UNESCO in projects for the preservation of both tangible and intangible heritage, and developing means to protect and maintain Iraqi antiquities in cooperation with various global cultural and academic entities interested in these efforts."
