Dozens of Victims in Attack in Southwest China

An attack on a hospital in southwest China on Tuesday resulted in more than 10 victims, both dead and injured, according to the official Xinhua News Agency. The agency reported, citing local authorities in Yunnan province, that "as of 1:20 PM today, more than 10 victims have been reported in an attack at a hospital in Zhenxiong County in the province," without specifying the nature of the attack. Authorities are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, Guizhou TV, citing its sources, reported that two people were killed and more than 20 others injured in a knife attack at a hospital in Yunnan province. It stated, "According to preliminary information, 23 individuals were injured, and two of them could not be saved; all the injured were transferred to the hospital." A suspect has been taken into custody following the attack that resulted in 2 deaths and 21 injuries, with some of the injured in serious condition, according to Ifeng News.
