Arrest of "Terrorist" After Attack on Security Patrol in Iran Resulting in Death of Two Officers

Security authorities in Sistan and Baluchestan province in southeastern Iran announced the arrest of one of the "terrorists" involved in the attack on an internal security patrol in the city of Korin on Saturday. The media center of the Iranian internal security forces in Sistan and Baluchestan stated: "The terrorists attacked a patrol belonging to the internal security forces in the city of Korin, near Zahedan (the provincial capital), resulting in the martyrdom of two security personnel and injuring a third."

The statement added that "the arrested terrorist was injured during the clash, and the search is ongoing for the other terrorists to apprehend them." The Mehr news agency reported that "two officers were killed from Korin police in Zahedan, and another person was injured during the clash with criminal armed individuals in the city."

It noted that "the two police officers attempted to intervene and end the riot, but these criminals began shooting and killed the officers." Earlier, the security assistant to the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan, Ali Reza Marhamati, announced that security forces managed to thwart an armed attack targeting security headquarters in Sistan and Baluchestan province last Wednesday evening, resulting in the killing and injury of several perpetrators and security personnel.
