FIFA: Argentina Tops Globally, Morocco Leads Arab Rankings

Argentina, the world champion, maintained its lead in the global football ranking released on Thursday, ahead of France, the runner-up, and Belgium, which rose to third place at the expense of England. Meanwhile, the Moroccan team retained its position as the top Arab team. Argentina boosted its lead by 2.8 points with victories over El Salvador (3-0) and Costa Rica (3-1) in two recent international friendlies during the international break in March. On the other hand, runner-up France lost 4.85 points after its defeat against Germany (0-2) at home. Belgium benefited from England's loss to Brazil (0-1) at Wembley Stadium in London during an international friendly on March 23, and later, the "Red Devils" forced the "Three Lions" to a draw at the same venue three days later. A total of 174 matches were held worldwide during the recent international break in March, encompassing the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup in Asia, the Euro playoff, the Nations League in the CONCACAF region, along with several international friendlies across all six continental federations.
