Israeli Army Advances into Rafah, Reaches

The Israeli army continues its advance deep into Rafah and has reached the "Brazil Neighborhood," occupying two-thirds of the "Philadelphia Route," according to army radio. Israeli army estimates indicate that intense fighting in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza Strip will continue until October 2024, as reported by the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.

According to the Israeli authority, the military leadership of Hamas has suffered little damage and will require at least six months of fighting to dismantle Hamas's military framework in Gaza. Estimates from Israeli security agencies suggest that Hamas's leadership capabilities and control have been severely damaged, but not in a way that is irreparable.

This comes as the Israeli army prepares to expand its ground operation in Rafah. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant informed U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Monday that Israel intends to escalate its ground attack in the city of Rafah in southern Gaza.
