The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division announced today, Tuesday, that "as part of the ongoing efforts by the Internal Security Forces to combat all types of crime, and following several complaints received by the Sidon Judicial Detachment of the Judicial Police Unit from citizens regarding being victims of fraud, deception, and forgery, orders were given to the detachment's personnel to identify and arrest the suspect.
As a result of investigations and inquiries, it was revealed that the accused is wanted for theft, fraud, and forgery and use of forged documents. He has been evading capture, frequently changing his residence, moving from one hotel to another, and driving rented cars which he changes regularly. It was found that he is named A. J. (born in 1984, Lebanese). Around 1:00 PM on April 10, 2024, following surveillance, and after receiving information about his location, one of the patrols was able to arrest him while he was driving a rented car in front of a hotel in the city of Tyre along the seaside road.
During the investigation, he confessed to the charges against him. He also stated that he rents private tourist cars for long periods of time in exchange for money after convincing the owners that he is from Gulf countries. When he receives the car papers, he forges sales contracts stamped with forged notary public seals and then sells the cars."
The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces circulated the photo of the arrested individual (A. J.) based on judicial instructions and requested "anyone who has fallen victim to his actions to approach the Sidon Judicial Detachment or contact the number 728839-07 to initiate the necessary legal procedures."
