Spanish Foreign Minister: The Possibility of Conflict Extending to Lebanon Concerns Us

Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated today, Monday, that "recognizing the Palestinian state is extremely necessary if we want a political solution to the situation in the Middle East," calling for a permanent ceasefire, amid the risk of Israeli military operations extending to Rafah. He added: "We demand the opening of all land points once and for all to provide aid to civilians in Gaza." He clarified that "a two-state solution means making peace final and irreversible, and avoiding ongoing cycles of violence." He revealed that "the possibility of the conflict extending to Lebanon concerns us because its ramifications would change, and because Lebanon is a fragile and tense state."
