Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati arrived at the Élysée Palace today, Friday, for a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. President Macron greeted him at the entrance, and they shook hands in front of the cameras while photos were taken. Afterward, Macron and Mikati entered the palace, where discussions will take place with the participation of Mikati's diplomatic advisor, Ambassador Boutros Assaker, and on the French side, the President's advisor for Middle Eastern affairs, Anne-Claire Legendre, the Director of the Middle East and North Africa at the French Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Anne Grillo, and the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro. The meeting is scheduled to last for an hour, after which Army Commander General Joseph Aoun and French Chief of Staff General Thierry Burkhard will join the discussions, which will continue over a luncheon hosted by the French President in honor of the Prime Minister.
