Fall of Pedestrian Bridge in Khamis Mushait

Many Saudis have been occupied in recent hours by a video showing the fall of a pedestrian bridge on Prince Sultan Road in Khamis Mushait, amid a state of alert from the relevant authorities to restore traffic movement. Informed sources confirmed that heavy equipment carried on a truck caused the bridge's collapse, with no human losses reported. The Khamis Mushait Municipality affirmed in a statement that they began addressing the pedestrian bridge collapse this morning, following a collision involving a heavy transport vehicle loaded with a (Boclin) in violation of traffic regulations and at a height exceeding the permitted limit (5.5 m), which led to the right side of the bridge falling without any reported injuries. They also clarified that all necessary urgent actions were taken promptly, including the removal of debris and the complete dismantling of the affected bridge due to the impact.
