Conclusion of the Sharjah Classic Cars Festival 2024

The Sharjah Classic Cars Festival concluded yesterday, attracting more than 15,000 visitors who are enthusiasts and lovers of classic vehicles under the slogan "More than just a car." The event featured hundreds of classic cars and included five discussion sessions attended by over 300 individuals. The closing ceremony showcased a video presentation highlighting notable moments from the official attendance, audience interaction, and enjoyment of the classic car displays and accompanying activities, as well as sessions featuring a selection of experts and athletes.

Dr. Mohammed bin Batti Al-Hajri, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Classic Cars Club, emphasized that the festival was a dream that has been realized, and the aim after the success of the first edition is to solidify the excellence and success achieved in order to make it the largest festival in the UAE and the region. He added, "We aspire to do more than just let the audience admire the finest classic cars and connect with enthusiasts and specialists; we aim to enhance tourism, sports, and recreational activities while highlighting classic cars as part of our cultural and historical heritage, attracting a wider segment of the community to own and invest in these vehicles."

Al-Hajri thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this edition before beginning to honor the sponsors of the festival, led by the official sponsor, the "Gulf Mechanical Center," the gold sponsor, "Emirates Auctions," and the silver sponsor, the "Sharjah Driving Institute."

On the final day, a session titled "Searching for Spare Parts… Where to Start" was held, emphasizing the importance of patience when searching for spare parts for classic cars and discouraging the use of modern replacement parts that would undermine the vehicle's original essence. The session praised locally manufactured parts as a reflection of the scientific advancement and knowledge development the country has achieved, advising that owning a classic car requires the owner to provide a special garage or rent one and ensure good insulation to protect the vehicle from humidity.
