Jordanian King Abdullah II met today, Tuesday, with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who is currently visiting Jordan. During the meeting, both sides discussed efforts to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the need to sustain the delivery of humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to the area through all available means. The King warned of the dangers of any military operation in Rafah, noting that the catastrophic effects of the ongoing war in Gaza could expand to include areas in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the entire region. He emphasized the importance of supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The King reiterated the significance of the United States' role in finding a political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution, as the only way to ensure the security of both Palestinians and Israelis, as well as the entire region.
