Israeli Army Announces Death of Beit Hanoun Battalion Leader

The spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, stated that "the Israel Defense Forces and the Shin Bet have eliminated the Beit Hanoun battalion leader in Hamas within an underground complex in Jabalia." He mentioned, "Forces from the 98th Division and special units from the Air Force eliminated the perpetrator known as Hussein Fayad, the Beit Hanoun battalion leader in Hamas, inside a tunnel." He added, "Fayad was responsible for many anti-tank missile launches toward Israel during the war and for numerous mortar shell launches toward communities in the northern Gaza envelope." Adraee noted that "the operation to eliminate Fayad is part of the 98th division's fight above and below ground, finding underground complexes and tunnels, and eliminating the perpetrators hiding within them."
