The General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Iraqi Ministry of Defense announced today, Wednesday, that seven individuals wanted on charges of terrorism and drug trafficking have been apprehended in the provinces of Baghdad, Babil, and Maysan.
In a statement, the directorate mentioned, "Based on accurate intelligence information, detachments from the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense arrested two individuals wanted by the judiciary on terrorism charges in the provinces of Babil and Maysan. The arrests occurred while one of them was attempting to enter Babil province, with arrest warrants issued against them in accordance with Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law."
It added that "in separate operations, detachments from the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate managed to capture five drug traffickers in various areas of Baghdad, against whom arrest warrants were issued in accordance with Article 28 of the Drug Law, and they were duly handed over to the relevant authorities."
