The World Health Organization selected two individuals for the title of Person of the Year on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, which falls on August 19. The first is Dr. Michel Matar, the Chairman of the Board of the Governmental University Hospital in Karantina, for his contributions to humanitarian service in Lebanon over the past year. The second is Mrs. Wahida Ghalayini, Head of the Nursing Department at Rafik Hariri University Hospital, recognized for her humanitarian services in her field.
