The head of the "Free Patriotic Movement" and MP Gibran Basil wrote on the "X" platform: "If the caretaker government, which is truncated and non-constitutional, appointed 234 customs officers without any Christians among them, it means they are determined to exclude Christians from the state." He added, "We hold the ministers Saadeh Al-Shami, Johnny Al-Qarm, Ziad Al-Makari, Walid Nassar, George Klass, Njeim Al-Riyashi, and George Bouchekian directly responsible if they secured the quorum for the session. We also hold the political references of these ministers, and the political forces that make up or support the government, primarily the Amal Movement and Hezbollah, accountable." He pointed out that "all the MPs who refuse to sign a petition to hold the government accountable also bear responsibility because they encourage the government to continue its practices. This decision and others, such as preventing the election of a constitutional president, tell Christians that we don’t want you in the state except on our terms. Where are you pushing the Christians? Remember what we told you: '#TogetherWeRemain'."
