The Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, disclosed that "the agency has funds to continue operations until next September." Lazzarini noted that "we are tirelessly working with partners to restore confidence in the agency, after several countries suspended their funding following Israeli claims that some UNRWA employees were involved in the October 7 attack." He emphasized that "new pledges of funding will help ensure emergency operations until September." It is noteworthy that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged donors to fund UNRWA, mentioning the "absence of any alternatives despite the Israeli criticisms."
