On Saturday, French Sports Minister Amélie Oudéa-Castéra swam in the Seine River, less than two weeks before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Accompanying her was Alexis Hanquinquant, one of the flag bearers for the French delegation at the Paralympic Games. Oudéa-Castéra became the first political figure to swim in the river, as she completed several laps between the Alexander III Bridge and the Invalides complex.
