Argentine international Lionel Messi, striker for Paris Saint-Germain, has been awarded the FIFA trophy for the Best Player in the World for 2022. Messi's victory was announced during the FIFA ceremony held in the French capital, Paris. Alexia Putellas won the award for Best Female Player in the World. The award for Best Coach in the World went to Argentina's coach, Lionel Scaloni, while Emiliano Martínez was crowned Best Goalkeeper in the World. Argentine fans received the award for Best Supporters, and Pele's wife was granted a special award from FIFA. Mary Earps took home the title of Best Female Goalkeeper in the World, Marten Oleksy won the Puskás Award for the Most Beautiful Goal, and Sarina Wiegman was recognized as the Best Coach in the World.
