In response to Israeli threats to target armed factions in Iraq, the Al-Nujaba Movement has vowed to retaliate harshly against any "Israeli foolishness." The movement stated in a statement published on its account on the X platform today, Saturday, that any targeting of individuals or sites within Iraq will be met with a severe response against Israeli and American sites and interests alike, referencing American forces in Iraq. They also claimed that any attack within Iraqi territory would not occur without American support. This movement, part of the Popular Mobilization Forces, had announced in February 2024 that it had halted its attacks against American forces in the country. However, it later participated in what has come to be known as the "Islamic Resistance in Iraq," which has repeatedly declared the launching of rockets toward Israel, although none of those alleged attacks have resulted in significant damage.
