Prime Minister Muhammad Shiya Al-Sudani confirmed that reform requires strong and correct decisions, directing a reevaluation of some decisions and previous economic policies.
The Prime Minister's media office stated that Al-Sudani chaired the regular meeting of the Economic Ministerial Council to follow up on decisions related to the economic reality and to implement the reform aspects included in the government program.
He clarified that the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of reevaluating the economic decisions and policies taken at earlier stages, stating that the time has come to address a number of contexts and unproductive practices. He added that reform requires strong and correct decisions.
According to the statement, Al-Sudani noted that "the government has provided significant supportive opportunities for the private sector and worked on empowering it and launching its projects. It is closely monitoring everything required to maintain the growth rate, and its supportive decisions will not benefit groups that rely on certain outlets without contributing or returning value to the country."
