Airstrike on a Convoy of Fighters in Syria

An unidentified aircraft targeted the Syrian-Iraqi border at midnight on Tuesday, striking trucks carrying weapons and oil tanks belonging to Iran-aligned forces in the customs square area of Al-Heri and the military gate in the countryside of Al-Bukamal, eastern Deir Ezzor. A military position of loyalists near the area was also hit, resulting in significant human losses, with 14 confirmed fatalities so far, most of whom are from Iranian-affiliated militias. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the death toll is likely to rise due to the presence of injured individuals, some in critical condition, as well as information about other casualties, in addition to substantial material damages from the targeted weapon trucks and fuel tanks.

In a related context, Iranian television announced that a drone targeted two fuel tanks among Iranian trucks consisting of 22 tanks heading to Lebanon, stating that "the United States targeted Iranian fuel trucks heading to Lebanon with no casualties reported." Sources from "Russia Today" confirmed that a group of Iraqi oil trucks in the Al-Bukamal area of Syria was bombed, resulting in about 20 deaths. They added that the trucks had left with official approvals from Iraqi territory, noting that the attack targeted two out of 23 trucks, indicating that around 20 people were killed in the strike, including members of the Iraqi border guards.
