The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, and the Jordanian Monarch King Abdullah II discussed today, Thursday, the strong fraternal relations between their countries and ways to enhance and develop their cooperation to achieve their common interests and meet the aspirations of their peoples towards development and prosperity. They also addressed various regional and international issues of mutual concern.
At the beginning of the meeting, which took place at the Al-Shati Palace, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed King Abdullah II, who is on a fraternal visit to the UAE, and they exchanged congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.
During the meeting, they reviewed different aspects of cooperation and joint coordination on many issues that concern both countries, particularly in development, economic, political, and other areas. They also discussed developments in regional and international events, and the situation in the Middle East, particularly the efforts being made to respond to humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip and to ensure a sufficient flow of relief aid to its residents to alleviate their suffering urgently, safely, and without obstacles via land, sea, and air. They emphasized the necessity for serious international action to push towards a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the region based on the "two-state solution" as a means to enhance its security and stability.
The President of the UAE hosted an iftar banquet in honor of King Abdullah II and his accompanying delegation.
